In the beginning SASS was “St. Augustine Scriveners Society,” but after a few years of the frustrations experienced by beginning writers, it became

“St. Augustine Scribblers Society.” However, during the ensuing 12 years of experimentation and learning, and with objectivity, mutual encouragement, and ever-present good humor, four members are now published authors, and three others have manuscripts almost ready. SASS members meet informally about once a month. We’ll announce when the books begin to hit the best seller lists.
